With the weather getting warmer, time to wheel out those picnic blankets for some time out. You deserve it! My picnic blanket is from Fortnum & Mason. They feel so cozy and luxurious. I love it! It’s totally worth the investment. Unfortunately, it is sold out, but I have linked a similar one here.

Being Ladylike is super attractive

Have you ever been in a crowded room and then there’s the one lady who seems to catch everyone’s eyes, including yours? Not in a romantic kind of way, but in an admiration sort of way. No matter which angle you look at her, you’re just drawn to her. Her sophistication. Her grace. Her confidence. She’s so elegant and ladylike! The way she works the room. Every move is made with dignity and class. Her confidence is truly radiating! She is in control! And seems to have it all together!

  1. Discovering you
  2. Refining elegant habits
  3. Elevating your everyday

An elegant lady is seriously confident and attractive. No matter what life throws at her, she has developed the ability to effortlessly navigate through the good, the bad and the ugly, whilst maintaining elegance, grace and poise. She makes life seem simple and opportunities appear to follow her everywhere. But Ladies, she was not born this way. She has simply mastered the art of Ladylike elegance and created an elevated life for herself. And you can too… in these 3 simple steps.

How to class-up and elevate your life in 3 simple steps

Please don’t confuse the “simple” with “easy”. Because it is definitely not easy to achieve. Otherwise, everyone will be elegant and Ladylike. Plus, is anything easy worth striving for?! These 3 steps are a journey that continuously evolves with your life. Most importantly, it is a mindset transformation and a lifetime commitment to designing your best elegant life. Take small steps each day to class-up and elevate the quality of your life. You will start to treat yourself better. People will naturally treat you better, and with more respect.

Trust me, I’ve been there! My confidence hit rock bottom at one point until I embarked on this elegance journey where I found my confidence and self-esteem again. I am proud to say I have now developed a healthy mindset and improved self-worth. I continuously identify areas to refine myself and work towards designing my ideal elegant life. But that’s a story for another post…

1. Discovering you

The most important step in any transformation journey is discovering who you are and who you want to be. Discovering your “why”. Why do you want to be more elegant and Ladylike? Why do you want to class-up your life and elevate the quality of your life? What are your goals? What is the ultimate lifestyle you want for yourself and your family? Because as I said, this is not an easy journey. And when the going gets tough, it is your “why’s” and your goals that are gonna keep you pushing on.

For me, it was pretty simple. I needed to rediscover my true self, and change the way I feel about myself and my life. I remember as a young girl, I was really confident and a true go-getter. I had yearly goals and smashed them all well before the year ended. I had dreams to chase. I loved life and I felt so accomplished. I truly believed I could be anything I wanted!

But then life happened and I lost my ways. I tried to be everything for everyone. I felt guilty for the things I was doing, and for the things I wasn’t doing! I got into this never-ending loop of searching for something… but not really knowing what I was searching for! I was here, I was there, I was everywhere, but never present. I was just going through the motions. My husband said I was no longer having fun! I wrote about it here if you want to read about it.

I hated that feeling. I hated feeling not enough. I knew this wasn’t the real me and it wasn’t the life I wanted to build. This discovery has led me to embark on this transformational journey to elegance and Ladylike. It has completely changed my life.

2. Refining elegant habits

The second step to class-up and elevate your life is refining elegant habits by making small changes each and every day to ‘fine-tune’ our ways and our conduct to become a more refined person. And learn how to act like a Lady.

“Elegance isn’t solely defined by what you wear. It’s how you carry yourself, how you speak, what you read.”

– Carolina Herrera

Elegance is defined as “refinement, grace, and beauty in movement, appearance, or manners” by the Free Dictionary.

Cambridge dictionary defines someone who is “refined” as “someone who is polite, graceful, and aware of quality and style”.

This means, refining the way we speak, the way we behave, and the way we carry ourselves. How we feel about ourselves, internally and externally. How we treat ourselves and others. In other words, to become more elegant and Ladylike. Think Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn.

Through self-discovery journey in step one, you would have identified areas you need to work on and want to refine. Then create a plan or strategy to develop more elegant ways and embed them in your life. You need to keep an open mind and learn the Modern Ladylike ways.

You may want to start off by developing ladylike qualities and harnessing daily habits that cultivate elegance and classy. It also means learning about etiquette and social awareness so that we always act and treat people appropriately.

Personal refinement is not something you do once and forget about it. It is a lifelong journey. A mindset and lifestyle change. We need to learn, refine and adapt to our daily living so that we can become the best version of ourselves.

In summary, if you want to class-up and elevate your life, you need to first discover your elegance or Ladylike aura.

3. Elevating your everyday

The last step, but not the least, is elevating your everyday by choosing quality over quantity. Choosing to live elegantly over sloppily. This means giving yourself permission to enjoy the finer things in life every day instead of accepting mediocrity. This means, use those expensive chinas today instead of saving them for a special occasion; wear your nice clothes now instead of waiting for an important event to come. Take the time out for yourself, go to the park, watch that movie you’ve always wanted to watch. Follow your heart now. Not tomorrow, now. And follow them unapologetically! Because the present is a gift, every day is special and important.

I truly believe that ‘elegance’ and classing up your life is a state of mind. It’s not about spending a lot of money, wearing expensive clothes and adopting snobbery behaviour. But it is giving yourself grace to be your true and higher self. Elevating your everyday is really just a concept to drive us to find fulfilment in our every day, find joys and appreciate the simple luxuries in life.

But at the end of the day, how you choose to class-up and elevate your life is unique to you. As long as strive to become a better you than yesterday, whether it’s big or small.

Consciously choose to make every day incredible for you!

You do you, but make it the best you!
